More than ten years ago, we started Native Campervans because we loved traveling by campervan and wanted more people to experience it. A handful of vans eventually grew into one of the country’s largest campervan rental fleets, which gave us plenty of time to learn what works, what breaks, and what actually matters on the road.

One thing never made much sense to us: spending tens of thousands of dollars on a camper build that’s permanently tied to a vehicle that will eventually wear out.

So we started looking for a better way.

That led us to Innovation4Van, a German engineering and manufacturing company that had spent years developing removable camper systems. We combined their engineering with what we’d learned from a decade of owning, renting, repairing, and occasionally cursing at campervans.

That’s how Hunker came to life. A camper you can keep, even when it’s time for a new van. Simple as that.
